VIENNA, 13 January (UN Information Service) – This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs).
The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that three people who work for VIC-based organizations tested positive for SARS CoV-2.
Two people work for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a third person for the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). In one of the cases at the IAEA, close contacts have been informed. In the other two cases reported today, there was no workplace exposure.
The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the VIC-based organizations is 201, of whom 166 work at the VIC. Of the total of 201 personnel, 181 have recovered.
The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
