VIENNA, 1 February (UN Information Service) – The Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations (Vienna), Laura S.H. Holgate, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Holgate has served in various capacities, among them:
Vice President for materials risk management, Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), Washington, D.C. (2017-2021); Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for weapons of mass destruction terrorism and threat reduction, US National Security Council (2009-2016); Founding Vice President of Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) (2001-2009); Director, US Department of Energy’s Office of Fissile Materials Disposition (1998-2001); Special Coordinator for cooperative threat reduction, Department of Defence (1995-1998).
Ms. Holgate holds a Bachelor of Arts in politics from Princeton University and a Master of Science in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
