VIENNA, 15 June (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Angola to the United Nations (Vienna), Isabel de Jesus da Costa Godinho, presented her credentials today to the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Dennis Thatchaichawalit.
During her career, Ms. Godinho has served in various capacities, among them:
Consul General, Consulate General in Porto, Portugal (September 2019-present); Minister Counsellor, Embassy in Portugal (2011-2019); Director of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) Support Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2011); Minister Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Angola to the United Nations in New York (2003-2010), Second Secretary to Councillor in Luanda (1989-2002); and accountant, Angolan Diamond Company (1981-1986).
Ms. Godinho holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Agostinho Neto University in Luanda, and a master’s degree in International Relations from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal.
Ms. Godinho speaks English, French and Portuguese.
