VIENNA, 19 January (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Cabo Verde to the United Nations Office at Vienna, Clara Manuela da Luz Delgado Jesus, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Delgado Jesus has served in various positions, among them:
Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative of Cabo Verde to the United Nations and World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva (2021-present); Diplomatic Adviser to the President of Cabo Verde (2016-2020); Minister Plenipotentiary, Directorate General for Global Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (2015-2016); Chargé d’Affairs, Embassy in Luxembourg (2009-2015); Counsellor, Directorate General for Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Communities (2006-2009); Deputy General Director, General Directorate of State Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cooperation and Communities (2005-2006); First Secretary, Embassy in Brussels and the Permanent Mission to the European Union and to the ACP countries (Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific), Netherlands and Luxembourg and Chargé d’Affairs ad interim to the United Kingdom (2001-2005); Chargé d´Affairs, Embassy in the Hague, the Netherlands (2000-2001); Consul General, Rotterdam, the Netherlands (1999-2000); Adviser to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities (1998-1999); and Advisor to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (1997-1998).
Ms. Delgado Jesus holds a Master’s Degree in international economic relations from the State University Kyiv, Ukraine.
Ms. Delgado Jesus speaks English, French, Portuguese and Russian.
