New Permanent Representative of Germany presents credentials

VIENNA, 22 July (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations (Vienna), Rüdiger Bohn, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During his career, Mr. Bohn has served in various capacities, among them:

Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy in London (2022–present); Commissioner for Non-proliferation, Disarmament and Arms Control, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2018-2022); Head of Division, Security Policy, Non-proliferation and Arms Control and Bilateral Relations with the United States, Canada, North, West and South Europe as well as Türkiye, Federal Chancellery (2017-2018); Division for Conventional Arms Control and confidence- and security-building measures (CSBM), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2016-2017); Political Section, Embassy in Washington DC, United States (2015-2016); Director of the German Information Centre, Embassy in Washington DC, United States (2013-2015); Division for organizational affairs and resource allocation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2013); Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (2006-2009); German NATO Delegation in Brussels (2003-2006); Personnel Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2003); Embassy in Amman, Jordan (1996-1999); and Attaché, Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1992-1994).

Mr. Bohn attended the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Boston and the Hertie-School of Governance in Berlin. He studied Arabic studies and international law at Leipzig University in Germany.
