VIENNA, 29 July (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations (Vienna), Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Akhtar has served in various capacities, among them:
Acting Additional Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2022-2024); Director General Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2022); with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretariat, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2010-2015); Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006-2010); Deputy Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2006); and at the Pakistan Mission, Vienna, (2000-2005).
Mr. Akhtar holds a master’s degree in nuclear physics.

With the deposit of the instrument of accession at the UN Headquarters in New York, Costa Rica becomes the eighteenth State Party to the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, also known as the "Singapore Convention on Mediation".
