VIENNA, 17 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Jordan to the United Nations (Vienna), Mohammed Hindawi, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Hindawi, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Chief of Staff, Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2022-2024); Director of Negotiations Coordination Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2021-2024); Alternate Permanent Representative of Jordan to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in Paris, France (2017-2021); Chief of Staff, Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2017); Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2016-2017); Head of Humanitarian Affairs, International Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2016); First Secretary, Embassy in Vienna, Austria (2011-2015); Assistant Director, Human Rights Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2011); Third Secretary and Political Affairs Officer, Permanent Mission of Jordan to the UN Office at Geneva (2006-2010); and Third Secretary and Political Affairs Officer, Arab and Middle East Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2006).
Mr. Hindawi holds a Master’s in economics – international trade from Al-Yarmouk University and a Bachelor in applied mathematics from Jordan University for Sciences and Technology.
