VIENNA, 17 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Observer of the League of Arab States to the United Nations (Vienna), Salah Boucha, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Boucha has served in various capacities, among them:
Ambassador Counsellor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Algeria (2020-2024); Ambassador of Algeria to Syria (2008-2019); Director of the Maghreb and the Arab Maghreb Union, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2008); Ambassador of Algeria to Libya (1997-2001); Chargé d'affaires a.i, Embassy of Algeria in Rabat, Morocco (1994-1997); Minister Plenipotentiary for Political Affairs, Embassy of Algeria in Rabat, Morocco (1993-1994); Deputy Director of the Maghreb Arab, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (199201993); Deputy Director of Regulation and Litigation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1990-1992); Economic Affairs Counsellor, Embassy of Algeria in Ottawa, Canada (1986-1989); Economic and Cultural Affairs Counsellor, Embassy of Algeria in Baghdad, Iraq (1982-1986); and Foreign Secretary for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1979-1982).
Mr. Boucha holds a PhD from the Faculty of Law, University of Algiers and a Magister of Law from the University of Baghdad, Iraq.
Mr. Boucha speaks Arabic, English and French.
