VIENNA, 25 February (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations (Vienna), Toufique Hasan, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career Mr. Hasan who is also Ambassador to Austria with concurrent accreditation to Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia, has served in various capacities, among them:
Director General, United Nations Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2024–2025); Director General, East Asia and Pacific Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2023–2024); Director General, Public Diplomacy Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2022-2023); Deputy High Commissioner, Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, India (2017–2022); and he has served at the Bangladesh embassies in Washington DC (2014-2017), Bangkok (2009-2012) and Paris (2005–2008).
Mr. Hasan holds a Master’s degree in international relations and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) both from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
