Every day, humanitarian aid workers bring life-saving aid and hope to people around the world. Many of them are national staff who serve their communities and persevere despite violence and hardship.
On World Humanitarian Day, we demand an end to attacks on humanitarians and all civilians. They need our support and protection, so they can continue to ease suffering and improve people’s lives.
As UN Secretary-General António Guterres says: “Celebrating humanitarians is not enough. We must all do more to protect and safeguard our common humanity.”
