New Permanent Representative of Bahrain presents credentials

VIENNA, 19 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations (Vienna), Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, presented his credentials today to the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Dennis Thatchaichawalit.

During his career, Mr. Abdulla, who is also Ambassador to Austria, Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva and Consul General in Geneva, has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador to Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden with residence in Germany (2017-2024); Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009-2017); Ambassador to Austria (2008-2009); Permanent Representative to the United Nations offices in Geneva and Vienna and Consul General of Bahrain to Switzerland (2006-2009); and Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in London (2000-2005).

Mr. Abdulla has a Master’s degree in corporate administration from Strathclyde University in Scotland and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and accountancy from Bahrain University.

Mr. Abdulla speaks Arabic and English.
