New Permanent Representative of Slovenia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 1 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia, Blanka Jamnisek, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Ms. Jamnisek has served in various capacities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the course of her career, among them: Minister Plenipotentiary, Department of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Council of Europe (2003 -2011); Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Slovenia to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (1998 -2003); and Desk Officer, United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland desk (1996 -1998). From 1994 to 1996 Ms. Jamnisek held the post of Head of the Public Relations Office in the Ministry of Defence of Slovenia.

Ms. Jamnisek holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, has specialized in International Relations and obtained a Master's degree in International Relations. She speaks English, French, German, Croatian, Bosnian and Serbian.
