New Permanent Representative of Guinea
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 11 January (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Guinea, Ibrahima Sory Sow, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Yury Fedotov.

Mr. Sow currently serves as Ambassador of Guinea to Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden.

During his career Mr. Sow has served in various capacities among them:

Minister of Health and Public Hygiene (2010); Member of the National Assembly and Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Committee(1995-2005); Administrative and Financial Director of the Agro-Industrial Society of Guinea (SAIG) (1990-92); Founding member and President of the Association of Economic and Cultural Promotion Guinea-Germany (1986-95); Adviser to the State Secretary responsible for Guineans abroad (1984-5); and Assistant at the Faculty of History of the University of Leipzig (1976-78).

Mr. Sow is a Doctor of Philosophy and has a Diploma in History both from the Karl-Marx University in Leipzig.

He is married and has three children.
