VIENNA, 30 April (UN Information Service) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will visit Austria from 14 to 15 May.
On 14 May the Secretary-General will meet with Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs Karin Kneissl. The Secretary-General will visit the Vienna International Centre, where he will address the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. The Secretary-General will also meet with the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna, Yury Fedotov, and heads of Vienna-based organizations and address staff.
On 15 May, the Secretary-General will deliver a keynote address during the R20 Austrian World Summit, an annual event on sustainable development organized by Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Governor of California. During his remarks, he will reiterate his call for global action to confront climate change. The Secretary-General is also expected to have bilateral meetings with other senior leaders on the sidelines of the summit.
