NEW PERMANENT OBSERVER OF THE HOLY SEE
PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

VIENNA, 9 May (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Observer of the Holy Sea to the United Nations (Vienna), Monsignor Leo Boccardi, presented his credentials on Wednesday to Pino Arlacchi, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Monsignor Leo Boccardi has been in the Diplomatic Service of the Holy Sea since 1987. He has served in the Apostolic Nunciatures in Uganda, Papua New Guinea and Belgium. Monsignor has served in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State.

Monsignor Leo Boccardi holds a Doctorate in Canon Law and was ordained to priesthood in 1979. He speaks Italian, French, Spanish and English.
