President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in May
NEW YORK, 1 May (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for May:
Security Council
Kishore Mahbubani, Permanent Representative of Singapore, succeeds Sergey Lavrov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation, as President of the Security Council.
Military Staff Committee
Air Vice Marshall John H. Thompson (United Kingdom) succeeds Lieutenant General Nikolay M. Uvarov (Russian Federation) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
