UN Anti-Drug Office Names New Chief of Operations

VIENNA, 7 April (UN Information Service) -- The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has appointed Bernard Frahi of France as the new Chief of Operations Branch within the Division of Operations and Analysis.

Until August 2002, Mr. Frahi served as the Office's representative in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He begun his UN career in 1991 with UNDP/UNDCP as Chief, Training Unit, Technical Services Division, and was subsequently reassigned to the position of Chief, Bureau for Europe, North America and the Middle East. He also served as Chief, Section for Western and Central Asia.

Mr. Frahi has a Master's degree in law. He has been admitted to the bar and holds a degree in criminology.
