Press Statement on Cyprus by Security Council President
NEW YORK, 2 April (UN Headquarters) -- Following is today’s press statement on Cyprus by Security Council President Gunter Pleuger (Germany):
Council members have considered the briefing by the Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, Mr. Alvaro de Soto. They thanked the Secretary-General and Mr. de Soto for their efforts and their commitment to finding a solution to the Cyprus question. They noted that it is now for the Cypriots to decide their future at this important juncture.
