    President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in May

NEW YORK, 30 April (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for May:

Security Council

Munir Akram, Permanent Representative of Pakistan, succeeds Gunter Pleuger, Permanent Representative of Germany, as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant General Nikolaj M. Uvarov (Russian Federation) succeeds Major General Pascal Vinchon (France) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
