President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in July

NEW YORK, 1 July (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for July:

Security Council

Mihnea Motoc, Permanent Representative of Romania, succeeds Lauro Baja, Permanent Representative of the Philippines, as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant General Walter L. Sharp of the United States succeeds Rear Admiral Anthony K. Dymock of the United Kingdom as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
