President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in December

NEW YORK, 30 November (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for December:

Security Council

Abdallah Baali, Permanent Representative of Algeria, succeeds John C. Danforth, Permanent Representative of the United States, as President of the Security Council

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant General Walter L. Sharp of the United States succeeds Rear Admiral Anthony K. Dymock of the United Kingdom as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
