New Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 14 September (UN Information Service) -- The New Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ivan Počuch, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Počuch served as the Director of International Security Policy Department in Prague (since 2003). He was appointed the Head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Section in the International Security Policy Department in 2001, soon after which he was promoted to the Deputy-Director of the Department in 2002.

Mr. Počuch has served in various capacities in the course of his career. He has worked as a part of the Delegation of the Czech Republic to NATO (1999) and in the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations in New York (1995). Mr. Počuch served as a member of the Czech delegation to the United Nations Security Council.

Mr. Počuch joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in 1995. He is married and has two children.
