New Permanent Representative of Peru Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 11 February (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Harry Belevan-McBride, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

Mr. Belevan-McBride has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Secretary Pro-Tempore for the Rio Group (2003); Under-Secretary for Multilateral Affairs (2001-02); Ambassador in Bolivia (1996-2001); Ambassador-at-Large in Venezuela and Central America (1995); Ambassador in Portugal (1990-92) and Under-Secretary for Political Affairs (1988-90). He is also a prolific writer who has been published many times.

Mr. Belevan-McBride has a Masters Degree in International Relations. He is married and has three children.
