New Permanent Representative of Sudan Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 27 April (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Sayed Galal Eldin Elamin, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Elamin was serving as Director, Protocol Department at  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan in Khartoum, Sudan (2002-05).

Mr. Elamin has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as Ambassador of Sudan to Jordan (1998-2002); Director, Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1994-98); Minister Plenipotentiary, Ambassador Deputy Head of Mission in Moscow, Russian Federation (1991-94); Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Sudan to the United Nations Office at Geneva (1989-90); Counsellor, Economic Department (1990-91) and Counsellor, Minister’s Executive Office (1987-89) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Elamin completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Khartoum in Sudan. He is married and has three children.
