New Permanent Representative of Luxembourg Presents Credentials

VIENNA 29 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to the United Nations (Vienna), Christian Braun, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Braun was serving as Deputy Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium (since 2002).

Mr. Braun has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Advisor on Enlargement, Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the European Union (1998-2002); Counsellor, Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the European Union (1995-97); Alternate Political Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luxembourg (1993-95); Executive Secretary, Peace Conference on Yugoslavia, The Hague, Netherlands (1991-92); European Correspondent, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luxembourg (1990-91).

Mr. Braun completed his studies at UCL - Brussels in 1985 with a degree in Law.

He is married and has two children.
