New Permanent Representative of Hungary Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 4 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations (Vienna), Györgyi Martin Zanathy, presented her credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Martin Zanathy was serving as Director-General of the Consular Department at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Budapest (since 1996).

Ms. Martin Zanathy has also served as Section Head, Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-95); and as Attaché, Hungarian Embassy in Athens, Greece (1984-88).

Ms. Martin Zanathy completed her studies at the Eötvös Lóránd University of Budapest (ELTE), Faculty of Law. She is a Senior Lecturer at ELTE for Public International Law (since 1995), and Honorary Associate Professor of the Institute of Economics, Budapest (since 2004).

She is married and has two children.
