President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in September

NEW YORK, 1 September (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for September:

Security Council

Adamantios Vassilakis, Permanent Representative of Greece, succeeds Nana Effah-Apenteng, Permanent Representative of Ghana, as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Major General Liu Pei (China) succeeds Lieutenant General V. E. Renuart (United States) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
