Secretary-General Welcomes Report of Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission as Important Contribution to Disarmament Debate
NEW YORK, 1 June (UN Headquarters) -- The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan:
The Secretary-General welcomes the release of the report of the Independent Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission. He stresses that this report will be an important contribution to the debate on disarmament and non-proliferation. The Secretary-General urges the international community to study the report and consider its recommendations.
