New Permanent Representative of Yemen Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 28 September (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations (Vienna), Ahmed Alwan Mulhi, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Mulhi was serving as Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Yemen to Saudi Arabia (since 2005).

Mr. Mulhi has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Director, Legal Department and Deputy Director, Cultural Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen (2001 - 05), Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Yemen in Vienna, Austria (1997 - 2001) and Deputy Director, International Organizations and Director, United Nations Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Muhli studied at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and holds a doctoral degree in International Law. He is married.
