New Permanent Representative of Denmark Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 9 March (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations (Vienna), Hugo Østergaard-Andersen, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Østergaard-Andersen was serving as Under Secretary for Administrative Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004 - 07).

Mr. Østergaard-Andersen has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Inspector General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001 - 04), Ambassador to Iran (1996 - 2001), Head of Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1992 - 96), as well as Counsellor, Embassy of Denmark in Vienna (1988 - 92).

Mr. Østergaard-Andersen holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Copenhagen. He is married.
