New Permanent Representative of Yemen
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 1 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Yemen, H.E. Abdulhakim Abdulrahman Al-Eryani, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr. Al-Eryani is also serving as Ambassador to the Republic of Austria.

Mr. Al-Eryani has served in various capacities in the course of his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, among them: Head of Minister's Cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009-2010); Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Yemen in Washington (2004-2008); Member of Minister's Cabinet in charge of Americas, Europe and International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2004); Director of Programs, Supreme National Committee for Human Rights (1999-2001); Head of Consular Section, Embassy of Yemen in Damascus (1995-1999).

In the multilateral field, among many other responsibilities, he represented Yemen at the Arab League Council and at the Commission on Human Rights in Geneva.

Mr. Al-Eryani graduated with a degree in economics from George Mason University, Virginia, USA, in 1984.
