New Permanent Representative of Ireland
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 7 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Ireland, James Brennan, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr Brennan is also serving as Ambassador to the Republic of Austria.

Mr Brennan has served in various capacities in the course of his career with the Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among them: Ambassador to Portugal and Morocco (2006-2010); Ambassador to Denmark and Iceland (2002-2006); Deputy Permanent Representative of Ireland to the European Union (1998-2002); Assistant Secretary, Economic Division (1997-1998); Counsellor, Economic Division (1994-1997); Counsellor, Permanent Representation of Ireland to the European Union (1990-1994); Counsellor, Organization Section (1983-1990); First Secretary, Trade Section (1982-1983); First Secretary Embassy of Ireland, Lisbon (1979-1982); First Secretary, Embassy of Ireland, Lagos (1975-1979); Third Secretary, Anglo-Irish Division (1971-1974).
