New Permanent Representative of Albania
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 17 January (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania, Spiro Koçi, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr Koçi has served in various capacities in the course of his career with the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among them: Director General for Security Issues and International Organizations (2009-2010); Director General for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Multilateral Relations (2008-2009); Ambassador to Serbia (2007-2008); Director/Director General for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Multilateral Relations (2001-2006); Deputy Head of Delegation to the OSCE and Deputy Permanent Representative to UNOV and OSCE (1997-2001); Desk Officer for UN and NATO (1994-1997).

Mr Koçi graduated from the University of Tirana in 1987 with a degree in Physics. He completed his post-graduate studies at the University of Debrecen, Hungary and worked in the Foreign Relations Departments of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Albania and the Committee for Science and Technology from 1990 to 1993.

He is married with two children.
