New Permanent Representative of Egypt
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 3 November (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Khaled Shamaa, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr. Shamaa was Assistant Deputy Foreign Minister for Disarmament Affairs at the Egyptian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he served at the Egyptian Embassies and Permanent Missions in Brasilia, Pretoria and New York.

Mr. Shamaa holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Cairo University and a Master's degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. He speaks English, French and Portuguese and is married and father of three children.
