New Permanent Representative of Germany
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 23 July (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad Max Scharinger, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he has served in various capacities, among them:

Deputy Permanent Representative, Office of the United Nations in Geneva (2008-2012); Deputy Head of Mission and Minister Counsellor, Embassy in Prague (2004-2008); Director of the North American Division (2002-2004); Head of Economic Division, German Embassy in Washington D.C. (1997-2002); Deputy Head of Division, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Policy (1993-1997); Political Counsellor, Permanent Mission to NATO in Bruxelles (1991-1993); Cultural Counsellor, Embassy in Bruxelles (1989-1991); Economic Counsellor, Embassy in Cairo (1986-1989); Desk Officer, Environment Division 1983-1986); Press Officer, Embassy in Rabat (1982-1983).

Mr. Scharinger studied German language, history and geography at the University of Regensburg. He is married and has three children.
