New Permanent Representative of Indonesia
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 11 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Indonesia, Rachmat Budiman, presented his credentials today to the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Mazlan Othman.

Mr. Budiman currently serves as Ambassador of Indonesia to Austria and Slovenia and as Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna.

Since Mr. Budiman joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987 he has served in various capacities, among them:

Director, Treaties on Political, Security and Territorial Affairs (2008-12); Secretary, Directorate General of Information and Public Diplomacy (2007-08); Political Coordinator, Security Council Team of Indonesia, United Nations New York (2007); Head of Press Division, Social and Cultural Affairs, Embassy Vienna (2005-06); Deputy Director, Treaties on Maritime Affairs (2002-05); Head of Press Sub-division, Social and Cultural Affairs, Consulate Perth (1997-2001); Head of Section, Air Law, Directorate of Treaties (1995-97); Head of Press Sub-division, Embassy The Hague (1994-5); Staff, Press Division, Embassy The Hague (1991-94); Head of Section, Facilitation Service for Social Cultural Events, Directorate of Social Cultural Relations (1989-91); Staff, Directorate of Social and Cultural Relations (1987-89).

Mr. Budiman graduated from the University of Indonesia in 1985.

He is married and has one child.
