New Permanent Observer of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 24 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Observer of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean to the United Nations (Vienna), Peter Schatzer, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mr. Schatzer has served in various capacities, among them:

Senior Adviser to the Director General, Geneva (2012-2013); Chief of Staff, Geneva (2010-2012); Director, Coordinator for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission for Italy and Malta, Rome (2004-2010); Chief of Mission, Berlin/Bonn (2002-2003); Director, External Relations Department and Senior Regional Adviser for Europe, Geneva (1999-2003); Director, External Relations and Information, Geneva (1992-1999); Acting Director, Department for Planning, Research and Evaluation, Geneva (1991-1992); Chief of Mission, Amman (1990-1991).

Mr. Schatzer studied Economics. He speaks German, English, Italian and French.
