New Permanent Representative of Pakistan Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 30 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Pakistan, Ayesha Riyaz, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Ayesha Riyaz has served in various capacities, among them:

Additional Foreign Secretary (2012-2013); Ambassador to Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Holy See (2006-2011); Minister and Deputy Head of Mission in Paris and Alternate Permanent Delegate to UNESCO (2002-2006); Director, Arab Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad (2001-2002); Director, Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad (1996-2001); First Secretary, High Commission for Pakistan, Pretoria, South Africa (1993-1996); Deputy Director, Administration, Deputy Director, Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad (1989-1993); Third, then Second Secretary, Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC (1986-1989); Assistant Director Iran-Iraq, Assistant Director International Conferences, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad (1984-1985).

Ms. Ayesha Riyaz holds a Master's Degree from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
