invite you to a

Press Briefing

on the

Effect of Radiation Exposure on Children, and the Radiological Impact of the Fukushima-Daiichi Accident

which are being discussed at the

UNSCEAR Annual Committee Session

Journalists are invited to attend a briefing on two major issues being discussed at the UNSCEAR's 60 th committee session being held in Vienna from 27-31 May. These are: a) the effects of radiation exposure on children and b) the radiological impact of events at the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan on humans and the environment. Once finalized, the UNSCEAR report will be presented to the United Nations General Assembly later this year.

UNSCEAR was established in 1955, reporting to the UN General Assembly on levels and effects of exposure to ionizing radiation. Its scientific assessments underpin international standards for radiation protection.
