New Permanent Representative of South Africa presents credentials

VIENNA, 28 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of South Africa to the United Nations (Vienna), Tebogo Joseph Seokolo, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Seokolo has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador to Austria (2013); Chief Director, Western Europe Desk, Department of International Relations and Cooperation (2012-2013); Ambassador to Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan (2008-2011); Deputy Chief of State Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs (2004-2007); Chief Director, Governance issues, Office of the Premier, Northwest Province (2002-2004); Director, Intergovernmental Relations, Office of the Premier, Northwest Province (2000-2002); First Secretary, Political Affairs, Embassy in the Netherlands (1996-2000); Assistant Director, Russia Desk, Department of Foreign Affairs (1995-1996); Head of International Relations and Protocol, Office of the Premier, Northwest Province (1994-1995).

 

Mr. Seokolo holds a Bachelor's Degree in History and English Literature from the Vista University, Soweto Campus, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mr. Seokolo is married and has two children.
