New Permanent Representative of Fiji presents credentials

VIENNA, 16 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Fiji to the United Nations (Vienna), Nazhat Shameem Khan, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Shameem Khan has served in various capacities, among them: Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva (2014-present); Private practitioner involved in consultancy and training of the judicial, legal, public and private sector, civil society and corporate sector (2009-2014); Puisne Judge, High Court of Fiji (1999-2009); Director of Public Prosecutions in Fiji (1994-1999); Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (1993); Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (1993); Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions (1990-1991); Principal Legal Officer (1988-1990); Senior Legal Officer (1985-1988); Legal Officer at the Director of Public Prosecutions' Office (1984-1985).

Ms. Shameem Khan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom and a Master of Laws and a Master of Philosophy (Criminology) degrees from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
