Yutu Lunar Rover lands at the Vienna International Centre

VIENNA, 6 June (UN Information Service) - Media are invited to attend several side-events during the 57 th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), 11-20 June, in the Vienna International Centre.

 

Wednesday, 11 June at 2.45 p.m, UNOOSA Space Exhibit, Corridor D/E, VIC

A copy of the famous painting of Nicolaus Copernicus and a model of the first Polish scientific satellite "LEM" will be donated by Poland.

 

Wednesday, 11 June at 6 p.m., Rotunda, VIC

Inauguration of the exhibition African Space Activities. The exhibition will be at display from 11-20 June.

 

Friday, 13 June at 1 p.m., Rotunda, VIC

Donation ceremony and reception for the full scale model of the Yutu 3 Lunar Rover by China.

 

Monday, 16 June, 4.30pm, Natural History Museum, Vienna

The Future of Human Spaceflight: A talk by NASA astronaut Alvin Drew.

 

Tuesday, 17 June, 1-2 p.m., Board Room D, VIC

Panel discussion with Samantha Cristoforetti, who will become the first woman astronaut from Italy in November 2014. UNOOSA Director Simonetta Di Pippo will also appear on the panel.

 

From 11-20 June, an exhibit of the Russian navigation satellite system constellation GLONASS will be at display at the UNOOSA Space Exhibit, Corridor D/E, VIC.
