New Permanent Representative of China presents credentials

VIENNA, 6 May (UN Information Service) - The Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations (Vienna), Mr. SHI Zhongjun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Shi has served in various capacities, among them: Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences (2015-2016); Deputy Director-General level official (2014-2015); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Seychelles (2011-2014); Counsellor of the General Office (2008-2011); Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna (2004-2008); Third secretary, Deputy Director and Director of the Department of Arms Control (1997-2004); Third secretary of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences (1995-1997); Attaché and Third Secretary of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland (1993-1995); Desk Officer and Attaché of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences (1990-1993).

Mr. Shi holds a Bachelor's degree.

He is married and has one daughter.
