New Permanent Representative of the
United States of America presents credentials

VIENNA, 18 July (UN Information Service) - The Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations (Vienna), Ms. Laura S. H. Holgate, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Ms. Holgate is also serving as Permanent Representative of the United States to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

During her career Ms. Holgate has served in various capacities, among them:

Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism and Threat Reduction on the National Security Council; Vice President for Russia/New Independent States Programs at the Nuclear Threat Initiative (2001-2009); Director of the Department of Energy's Office of Fissile Materials (1998-2001); Special Coordinator for Cooperative Threat Reduction at the Department for Defense (1995-1998).

Ms. Holgate holds an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University and an SM in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
