New Permanent Representative of Nepal presents credentials

VIENNA, 28 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to the United Nations (Vienna), Prakash Kumar Suvedi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career Mr. Suvedi has served in various capacities, among them:

Joint Secretary, South Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014-2016); Coordinator of the 18 th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit (2014); Joint Secretary, General Administration Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013-2014); Minister Counsellor at the Nepalese Embassy in Copenhagen (2009-2013); Counsellor at the Embassy in Riyadh (2005-2008); First Secretary at the Nepalese Embassy in Moscow (1995-1999).

Mr. Suvedi holds an M.A. in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and an M.A. in International Relations from the International University of Japan.

Mr. Suvedi speaks Nepali, English, French and Hindi.

Mr. Suvedi is married and has two children.
