New Permanent Representative of Yemen presents credentials

VIENNA, 2 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations (Vienna), Haytham Abdulmomen Hassan Shoja'aadin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career Mr. Shoja'aadin has served in various capacities, among them:

Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Yemen, Rome, and acting Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and World Food Programme (WFP) (2014-2016); Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of Yemen and Deputy Permanent Representative of Yemen to the FAO, IFAD and WFP (2013-2014); Political and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Yemen, Rome and alternate Permanent Representative of Yemen to the FAO, IFAD and WFP (2012-2013); Head of the EU Unit at the European Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007-2012).

Mr. Shoja'aadin holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from Baghdad University and a Master of Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management and Sana'a University.

Mr. Shoja'aadin speaks Arabic and English.

Mr. Shoja'aadin is married and has two children.
