 Message from the main Vienna International Centre organizations

 VIENNA, 8 October (UN Information Service) - This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs). 

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that two people have tested positive for SARS CoV-2.

One person is from the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). There was no workplace exposure. The second person is from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Close contacts have been informed.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the main VIC-based organizations is 80, of whom 67 work at the VIC. Of the total of 80 personnel, 50 have already recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
