 Message from the main Vienna International Centre organizations

VIENNA, 12 October (UN Information Service) - This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs). 

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that four people tested positive for SARS CoV-2 over the weekend. Three work for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and one works for the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Close contacts have been informed.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the main VIC-based organizations is 85, of whom 72 work at the VIC. Of the total of 85 personnel, 50 have already recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
