VIENNA, 9 November (UN Information Service) - This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs).

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported that 16 people who work at the Vienna International Centre or for VIC-based organizations tested positive for SARS CoV-2 since Friday 6 November.

Eight people work for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), five for the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and two for the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOV/UNODC). One person works at the VIC but not for one of the main VBOs. In seven cases there was no workplace exposure, and in the rest close contacts have been informed.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the VIC-based organizations is 141, of whom 120 work at the VIC. Of the total of 141 personnel, 95 have recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
