Permanent Representative of Argentina presents credentials

VIENNA, 23 February (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations (Vienna), Gustavo Eduardo Ainchil, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During his career Mr. Ainchil has served in various capacities, among them:

Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal; Director for International Security, Nuclear and Space Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008-2016); Coordinator of Economic and Social Issues, Permanent Mission to the United Nations (2006-2007); Coordinator of Humanitarian Issues, United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) (2002-2006); Member of the United Nations Forum on Forests, United Nations (2003), Coordinator for Topics of Energy within the framework of the Johannesburg Summit on Sustainable Development, United Nations (2002); and Cabinet Member, Secretariat of International Economic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-1999).

Mr. Ainchil holds a Law degree from the University of Barcelona, Spain and was certified with the degree of Attorney at Law by the National Universities. He was Adjunct Professor (a.i.) of Public International Law at the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires and graduated from the Foreign Service Institute of the Nation.

Mr. Ainchil is married and has six children.
